No experience is needed to start kitesurfing. We teach you all the ins and outs of this fantastic sport. Generally, the rule is: from age 11 upwards. Kitesurfing requires a certain amount of physical strength, coordination, and maturity. It's essential that young kiteboarders have enough strength to control the kite and understand safety procedures. We only offer private and semi-private lessons. Check out the prices here. As a complete beginner, generally five to six lessons are needed to master the basics. Depending on what the instructor indicates in the lesson, you'll be ready for a launch and pickup. Once you can return independently at a launch and pickup, you're ready to hit the water on your own. Lessons

How many lessons do I need to kite independently on Bonaire?
Our instructors are IKO (International Kitesurfing Organization) certified. It's always possible that you might find yourself in trouble and unable to return independently. In such cases, a 'rescue' is needed. A motorboat will come to pick you up. This is not a service we offer; it's really for emergencies. We use the boats for our lessons, so in an emergency, we must interrupt a lesson to perform a 'rescue.' This is also why it can sometimes take up to 20 minutes for a boat to reach you. Keep your kite (when possible) at 12 o'clock as a signal that you want to be picked up, and stay calm while you wait. The costs of a rescue is ﹩30,- Everyday at approximately 9 AM we enter the beach to be of service. Around 5:00 PM, we need to start clearing everything from the beach. So then, the boats also leave the water. Safety

Bonaire experiences good winds on average 300 days a year, making it one of the best places in the world to learn and practice kitesurfing and wingfoiling. The northeast trade winds, with an average speed between 12 knots (28 km/h) and 25 knots (46 km/h), are characteristic of the Caribbean and are always offshore at the kitespot. Please note that the air density in Bonaire is lower than in the Netherlands. Especially on light wind days, you will need a larger kite than you are used to at your home spot.
